Bring a touch of fall to your tabletop with this adorable pumpkin napkin fold. In just a couple of minutes you can easily add a bit of autumn charm to your next dinner party.

Supplies You Will Need

Supplies for Pumpkin Napkin Fold including a cotton napkin, paper towel roll, scissors, and cinnamon sticks

Here are the supplies you will need:

  • An 18-inch cotton napkin ( A heavier napkin will hold it’s shape better than a thin one.)
  • Paper towel roll
  • Scissors
  • Cinnamon sticks

How to Create the Pumpkin Napkin Fold

Now that you have the supplies, here are the steps to create this cute napkin fold:

Prepare Your materials

  • Start with a clean, pressed napkin. I like to use spray starch on my napkins to give them a little more body and structure. The napkin I used in this example is quite thick and sturdy.
  • Cut the paper towel roll into 2-inch pieces.
  • Break your cinnamon stick so that it is approximately 1 1/2 to 2 inches long. I simply broke my cinnamon stick in half.

Create the Pumpkin

  • Spread your napkin out on the table.
  • Place the paper towel roll section onto the middle of the napkin.
  • Push the center of the napkin through the paper towel roll.
  • Begin along the narrow sides of the napkin, and tuck the outside edge of the napkin into the paper towel roll. Do this with all 4 short sides.
  • Now tuck the longer pointy parts of the napkin into the paper towel roll. Take care to spread out the napkin before you tuck the ends in. Make sure that the edges of the napkin are not visible.
  • If it becomes difficult to tuck the napkin into the paper towel roll, you may use a butter knife to assist.
  • Once all the edges are tucked into the paper towel roll, flip the pumpkin over. Fluff as needed.
  • Place the cinnamon stick into the top of the pumpkin.

Completing the Look

For the look above, I chose a light brown napkin to compliment the natural centerpiece. In the center of the table I layered a burlap table runner with a few decorative pumpkins: a white fabric pumpkin, an orange metallic pumpkin and 3 natural straw pumpkins. Among the pumpkins, I placed a few votive candles.

For the place setting I chose vintage wine glasses, short water glasses, and vintage silver flatware. I layered 2 simple white plates, and placed the pumpkin napkin fold in the center of the top plate.

The result is a casual, yet elegant presentation. Perfect for a fall dinner party.
