Tomato Basil Soup served with a grilled cheese sandwich

Tomato Basil Soup

Lisa Funsch
Tomato Basil Soup is so easy and delicious. This recipe requires minimal hands-on time, leaving time for other things while it simmers on the stove. A restaurant-quality soup that pairs well with gruyere grilled cheese sandwiches.

Notes

  • When using an immersion blender, I have found that I make less of a mess if I pour the soup into a deeper container first

  • This tomato basil soup is delicious when paired with a Gruyere grilled cheese sandwich on 5-grain Italian bread
