2 cupsfresh strawberries, quartered or cut into large chunks
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cupwater
Instructions
Place all ingredients into a medium saucepan.
Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until sugar dissolves and mixture begins to bubble.
Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
Pour the syrup through a fine mesh sieve, straining the strawberries from the liquid. Gently press the strawberries with a spoon or spatula to extract as much of the liquid as possible.
Discard the solids and allow the liquid to cool. Transfer the syrup to a clean bottle or jar and refrigerate until ready to use.
Notes
Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
This syrup pairs especially well with sparkling wine, elderflower liqueur, lemonade, and mocktails.
