A delicious combination of bourbon, orange juice and spices come together in this sweet potato recipe. This easy recipe can be made ahead and popped in the oven with your other holiday side dishes.
5-6medium sweet potatoes, baked, peeled, and sliced into ½-inch slices
⅓cup butter
⅓cupbrown sugar
⅓cuporange juice
⅓cupbourbon
½tspground cinnamon
¼tspground cloves
¼tspground nutmeg
⅓cupchopped pecans or walnuts
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350℉
Spray a 9x13 baking dish with cooking spray
Arrange sweet potato slices in baking dish
In a small saucepan combine butter, brown sugar, orange juice, bourbon, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg
Heat over medium heat until bubbly
Pour the bourbon mixture over the sweet potato slices
Sprinkle chopped nuts over the top
Bake at 350℉ for 30 minutes

This recipe can be made ahead and popped into the oven along with your other holiday side dishes. Just take it out of the fridge about a few minutes before cooking

I like to cook the sweet potatoes until they are done, yet still firm. This makes them easier to slice
It is easier to peel and slice sweet potatoes after baking. Allow them to come to room temperature first
